You've driven your Tesla for months. Maybe years. But I promise you haven't found everything. Tesla hides features everywhere. Some are useful. Some are just fun. Some save your butt in weird situations. Here are 20 hidden features most owners never discover. Go try them after reading this.
1. The Light Show Feature
Your Tesla can put on a synchronized light and music show. Go to Toybox > Light Show. Download custom shows from the Tesla Light Share website. The car flashes headlights, turns signals, and even opens and closes windows in rhythm. Perfect for driveway parties or confusing your neighbors.
2. Drag Strip Mode (Model S/X Plaid)
Not just regular launch control. Drag Strip Mode pre-cools the battery and motors. Shows you a full Christmas tree on the screen. Tracks your 60ft, 330ft, 1/8 mile, and 1/4 mile times. 3. Romance Mode

Everyone knows Dog Mode. But did you know you can customize the message? Tap the screen while Dog Mode is active. Type anything you want. "My human will be back in 15 minutes. I'm comfortable at 68 degrees." Also works for Camp Mode. Use it to leave funny notes for passersby.
5. The Christmas Easter Egg
Hold the Tesla "T" logo at the top of the screen for 5 seconds. Type "holiday" into the box that appears. Your car transforms. Santa sleigh replaces your car icon. Other cars become reindeer. Turn signals play jingle bells. Works year round. Not just December. Kids love it.

Your Tesla makes a honk when you walk away. Boring. Change it. Go to Safety > Lock Confirmation Sound. Tap the current sound. You can upload any WAV file via USB. Make it fart. Make it say "bye bye." Make it a lightsaber. Keep it under 2 seconds though. Annoying neighbors? Not your problem.
8. Phone Key Emergency Bypass
Phone key not working? Tap your phone to the B-pillar between the doors. Even if Bluetooth is dead. Even if the phone battery is empty. NFC works anyway. Hold it there for 3 seconds. The car unlocks. This saved me when my phone died at a remote trailhead. No one knows about this.
9. Manual Vent Control Trick
The climate screen shows air flowing. But you can drag those flow lines. Seriously. Put two fingers on the airflow visual. Rotate. Pinch. Spread. You can aim the vents exactly where you want. 10. Navigation Voice Command Shortcuts
"Navigate to home" works. But so does "I'm hungry" (shows restaurants). "Take me somewhere fun" (random points of interest). "Avoid highways" (changes route preferences temporarily). 11. PIN to Drive Secret Override

14. Door Unlock From Inside When Power Fails
If the 12V battery dies, the door buttons won't work. Every Tesla has a mechanical release. Front doors: pull the window switch up and the door handle at the same time. Rear doors: remove the speaker grille cover. There's a cable inside. Practice this now. You don't want to figure it out during an emergency.
15. Karaoke Mode That Nobody Uses

19. Custom Ambient Lighting Colors
Newer Teslas have RGB ambient lighting. The screen shows maybe 20 colors. You can make any color. Tap the color picker. Then tap and drag the rainbow slider. But also tap the hex code number. You can type any hex value. Want pure gold? #FFD700. Want FBI van orange? #FF4500. No limits.
20. Siri Shortcuts for Tesla
The Tesla app supports Siri Shortcuts. Open the app. Go to your phone's Settings > Siri & Search > Tesla. Every action appears. "Hey Siri, precondition my car." "Hey Siri, open my frunk." "Hey Siri, turn on seat heaters." Works from anywhere. Apple Watch too. Most owners never set this up. Takes 30 seconds. Changes everything.
